A->B routing is live
Following up on the recent post about “100% routing” tools, there are also now some tools to help you plan routes from point A to point B and maximize your new roads along the way. Let me tell you about it!
What is this?
One way I know a lot of folks like to wandrer is by picking up roads here and there on their way to/from some other destination: their morning commute, going to the store, visiting friends, whatever. It’s nice to be able to score some points on the way to someplace you were already going.
And as fun as it is to carefully craft your perfect route each time, sometimes you just wanna knock out some new stuff without having to plan too much. This is the tool for you.
A->B routing is available only for upgraded Wandrer users, and only on desktop.
How?
Just like with the 100% routing tools, you can select these tools from the “Route Generator” at the top right of the big map:

In the pop-up that appears, choose “Directional”:

Once there, you’ll need to set your start point, end point, and how far you’d like the total route to be. As soon as you set the start and end point, it will calculate the shortest possible distance between them and use that as a floor for how far you can request. You can type a name for your start/end point, have it use your current location, or place a marker on the map:

Select your activity type and then click “Create Route”. Because everyone is going to have different ideas about the kind of routes they want to do, it will create several options with helpful labels and overviews to make it easier to choose which route you’d like.
From there, it’s a matter of exporting whichever route you’d like. For now there’s GPX and cuesheet export options.

Just like the 100% routing tools, there’s still plenty to figure out and improve here. Please let me know any ideas you might have or issues you encounter!
